OverviewAI-generated summary

Robert D. Pesek's research focuses on allergic and immunologic conditions, particularly in children. He is an Assistant Professor of Allergy and Immunology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and serves as the medical director for the Allergy and Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disorders Clinics at Arkansas Children's Hospital (ACH). His clinical and research work addresses primary immunodeficiency, food allergies, and eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders.

Dr. Pesek has contributed to the development of consensus recommendations and clinical severity indices for eosinophilic gastrointestinal diseases. His publications include studies on the use of dupilumab for eosinophilic esophagitis in young patients, tolerance development in infants with cow's milk allergy undergoing oral immunotherapy, and the development of core outcome sets and practical guides for managing eosinophilic esophagitis through diet therapy. He also investigates distinct trajectories of antigen-specific T cells in individuals undergoing oral immunotherapy for peanut allergy.

His scholarly output includes 69 publications, with an h-index of 19 and over 1,300 citations. Dr. Pesek collaborates with several faculty members at UAMS, including Akilah A. Jefferson, Erhan Ararat, Amy M. Scurlock, and Stacie M. Jones, and leads a research group.
