Biography and Research Information
OverviewAI-generated summary
Dr. Ronald D. Robertson's research focuses on trauma and emergency care, with a particular emphasis on improving outcomes for patients within a state trauma system. His work has investigated factors influencing mortality and complications in trauma patients, including the role of smoking and alcohol in rib fracture outcomes. He has also explored the effectiveness of anticoagulant administration for venous thromboembolism prophylaxis in trauma populations, examining weight-based dosing for enoxaparin.
Further investigations by Dr. Robertson include the analysis of preventable mortality within a state trauma system, utilizing continuous review to inform provider education. He has also examined the incidence and impact of pulmonary emboli after patient discharge and analyzed autopsy data to understand traumatic and non-traumatic hemopericardium. His scholarly metrics include an h-index of 9, with 23 total publications and 1,985 citations. Dr. Robertson collaborates with several researchers at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, including Kyle J. Kalkwarf, Austin Porter, Charles D. Mabry, and Terry Collins.
