Biography and Research Information

OverviewAI-generated summary

Rohit Dhall's research focuses on neurodegenerative disorders, including Parkinson's disease, dementias, dystonia, and tremor. His work investigates novel diagnostics and therapeutics for these conditions, alongside developing and improving care programs for individuals with neurological illnesses. Dhall leads a research group and has published extensively on clinical trials for Parkinson's disease, evaluating treatments such as NLY01, continuous subcutaneous levodopa-carbidopa infusion (ND0612), and IPX203 extended-release carbidopa-levodopa.

His clinical expertise extends to the management of progressive supranuclear palsy and corticobasal syndrome, contributing to consensus statements for care centers. Dhall also studies specific aspects of Parkinson's disease, such as olfactory deficits in the freezing of gait phenotype and the efficacy of vibrotactile stimulation. Additionally, his research includes the safety and efficacy of treatments for Huntington's disease, including valbenazine for chorea and deutetrabenazine.

Dhall serves as Department Chairperson of Neurology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). He also directs the UAMS Parkinson Foundation Comprehensive Care Center and the Cure PSP Center of Care, and co-directs the Multiple Systems Atrophy Center of Excellence at UAMS. His scholarship metrics include an h-index of 29, 99 total publications, and 3,683 total citations.
