OverviewAI-generated summary
Srikanth Vallurupalli's research focuses on cardiovascular diseases, with a particular emphasis on treatment outcomes, risk factors, and the application of medical imaging techniques. He has published on topics including left ventricular thrombus management, the efficacy of sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors in heart failure, and the rationale for clinical trials investigating myocardial ischemia and transfusion.
Vallurupalli's work also extends to analyzing adverse cardiac events in women with non-obstructive coronary artery disease and exploring the role of FFR gradients in predicting target vessel failure. His publications include a systematic review and meta-analysis on SGLT2 inhibitors and a scientific statement from the American Heart Association on managing patients at risk for left ventricular thrombus. He holds a Level 3 advanced training designation in echocardiography.
His research network includes collaborators such as Fuad Habash, Hakan Paydak, Subodh Devabhaktuni, and Barry F. Uretsky, with whom he has co-authored multiple publications. Vallurupalli leads a research group at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where he holds an Associate Professor position in Internal Medicine.
Research Overview
Srikanth Vallurupalli MD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology, College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and a staff cardiologist at the Central Arkansas Veterans Health Care System(CAVHS).Dr. Vallurupalli attended medical school at the Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical education and Research(JIPMER) in Pondicherry, India. He completed his internal medicine residency and served as a chief medical resident at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He then worked an as Assistant Professor of General Internal Medicine at the Southern Illinois University in Springfield, IL before moving to Little Rock to complete his cardiovascular diseases fellowship at UAMS. He received advanced training in echocardiography (level 3) and has special interest in the management of valvular heart disease.
